We LOVE Scholastic Storybook Treasures! {Giveaway}

I've professed my love for the Scholastic Storybook Treasures line of DVDs many times on this blog. They're wonderful resources for kids and parents who love and value reading, (but sometimes need a break from the actual reading part, lol).  The DVD series is great for bringing to life some of the favorite books in our house, like Wheels on the Bus, Goodnight Moon, and There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.  My son's face lights up when he sees the standard Scholastic intro that features Max of Where the Wild Things Are, Curious George and others.

We recently received the Scholastic Treasury of 100 Storybook Classics 2, ($99.95) a comprehensive 17-DVD collection, that is the follow-up to the original treasury.  This set, available October 26th, is amazing in its breadth of 100 stories and 19+ hours of entertainment (not all at once, mind you).

Some of our favorites include Corduroy, Is Your Mama a Llama?, Goodnight Gorilla, and even The Night Before Christmas, which will be a nice treat for my son during the holiday season.  In fact, this entire set would make a wonderful holiday gift for a book-loving little one in your life.

We are very much enjoying working our way through the stories, especially as the weather is getting cooler and playing outside in the evenings is not much of an option.  The Scholastic Treasury (along with actual book reading too) is a great way to end our day.

I would highly recommend the Scholastic Storybook Treasures, either volume 1 or 2, as a gift for the wee ones in your life.  I love how it supports the reading to the little ones that you're already doing in your home.  It's honestly so much better than plopping your kids in front of Sponge Bob (disclosure: most mind-numbing show ever, in my opinion).
